International Day of Climate Action - Saturday October 24th

350.org Saturday October 24th is the International Day of Climate Action to highlight the number 350: "350 is the most important number in the world--it's what scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere".

Several of us in Heeley Meersbrook have signed up to the 10:10 campaign and pledge to cut our carbon emissions by 10% by the end of 2010. We are encouraging everyone to sign. This applies to individuals, organisations, our City, our Government. To make our point, we are inviting everybody, adults and children, to come to the Energy Centre dressed in blue if possible, and we will make the 10:10 logo on the grass outside with our bodies. It will make a great photo from the dizzy heights of the Energy Centre! And, people can get ideas from the Energy Centre about how they can cut that 10% (see below).

Noon, Saturday 24th Oct South Yorkshire Energy Centre, Heeley City Farm, 25 Alexandra Road, S2 3EE.

Also South Yorkshire Energy Centre (SYEC) is offering expert advice on

bracelet from recycled plastic bags, complete the eco-detective trail and enter
